We used Coconut Island for a recent community event. They were incredibly professional and friendly throughout the event. They were even able to accommodate our need for an allergy friendly menu without difficulty.
The food was delicious - everyone at our event was raving about how good everything was. Our personal favorite was the Rasta Pasta!
We would definitely use their food truck again and highly recommend them to anyone.
Coconut Island Grill is a food truck located in a gravel lot. There is no tables to sit at and eat outside, or inside for that matter.
The food is pretty tasty, however I don’t admire that they don’t advertise their prices on their menu while standing at their order window. When we were rung up, we were surprised at the cost. They do charge a few for using card.
The staff is very nice. The menu has items we don’t see at other Jamaican restaurants in the area.
We got an oxtail patty and a spicy beef patty. Phenomenal for both of them.
Our mains we ordered the oxtail plate and jerk chicken Mac and cheese.
The oxtail was tasty, but the bones were cut in half.
The jerk chicken Mac and cheese was cheesy and good, but I felt like the chicken could’ve been slow cooked better.
Also, compared to the other places in the area, their serving sizes were small. For these four items it cost $60, vs if we went to other places in the area it normally costs is $45 and a lot larger portions.
However the food is good, the workers are nice and I would come again if I’m in the area.
Wishing them luck!
A blessing to the local community, this food truck provides quality food with a smile. A much needed addition, standout quality. Every time I am greeted by two smiles, ready to serve. My first time I got the chicken patties and it tasted like a chicken curry inside coco bread, absolutely addictive. This drove me to return and I got the stew chicken over rice. Absolutely delectable, fall off the bone chicken with a side of their tasty homemade fruit punch where you can taste the tropical fruits! Under $20 a medium filled me up plenty. I can't wait to return and try more items.
It’s small businesses like this I wanna give all my money too! It’s a husband and wife and you can literally feel the love! They were sold out of a lot (because the food is just that good) but I was able to get a plate of their stewed chicken and it did NOT disappoint! Can’t wait to go back and try all their famous dishes! If you like Jamaican food, you’ll love it! If you don’t, they will make you like it!
These guys know what they’re doing. My first Caribbean food experience, and the bar had been set high by these guys. Some of the friendliest people I have ever met, The jerk chicken was super tender, sauce was perfect, rice seasoned perfectly, crispy fries. I also highly recommend the Jamaican cola drink, these guys have just started out and are gonna make it big! Thank you coconut island grill, I wish you luck and I will be back soon!-
