Stopped by Secrets on the Mile in Freeport and it did not disappoint! Had the stuffed plantain cups with jerk chicken and they were so good! Huge shout-out to our waitress Nicole, she was super friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. You can really tell they care about their guests here. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area!
We went on a beautiful Friday afternoon. We sat by three water. Our server Nicole was attentive and nice. The owner Shobma( sorry if I spelled your name incorrectly.)greeted us and made us very welcome. It was our 1st time and we will return. We started with the coconut shrimp, they were jumbo and very flavorful. Ordered the oxtails and a burger. The oxtail was very good and tender the flavors were on point. The burger was very well seasoned. It was very good. We were very well treated by Shobma and her staff. I highly recommend.
Had a great time at Secrets! Absolutely a great place to be on a Friday/ Saturday night. The live DJ adds a great vibe to an already delicious dining experience. We had the braised oxtail (nice and tender), Mac and cheese (cheesy and delicious), Rasta pasta was perfect amount of heat. It wasn’t our birthday but we saw multiple birthday signs and it looked so fun would absolutely come to party it up if you love soca and the Caribbean!
I love secrets on the mile! While the food can take some time, I am never disappointed with my meals. I heard they have a small kitchen staff, but for such a small kitchen, they pump out orders high quality and desired quantity. They are truly the best on the mile, and if you are coming to dine and dance you will enjoy yourself. The owners are extremely friendly, they will come and dance with you and even make conversation. Although it is getting colder, secrets on the mile is THE spot for me and girlfriend. Secrets4L
I had an amazing experience at Secrets on the Mile in Freeport, NY! Hands down, some of the best Caribbean food I’ve ever had. The oxtail with mac and cheese was absolutely incredible—tender, flavorful, and clearly cooked with extra love. The coconut shrimp deserves GOAT status, perfectly crispy with the right balance of sweetness and spice. And the jerk chicken tacos? Next level—packed with flavor that hits just right.
What I really love is that every dish tastes like it was made with care. If you’re looking for authentic Caribbean food with flavor that leaves you wanting more, this is the spot. Plus, the indoor and outdoor seating makes it a perfect vibe whether you’re coming for dinner, drinks, or just to chill. 🔥
Definitely a must-visit in Freeport—I’ll be back for sure!
