A few years prior to the death of my maternal grandfather, who I was very close to, he loved going to this farm where we primarily went apple picking and to spend time together as a family, even though he never worked there. After he passed, me and my family would go there every middle of October to remember and honor him. I still miss him!
And about the farm, it's a very pretty place to be during the Fall season. Apple picking's cool, if we get enough, me & mom might make these pastries like apple roses. The store, the bar, the area where there's a band playing (even though I wasn't there to see a performance there), it's so beautiful, even the 1 1/2 hour drive from NYC to there, it's so damn beautiful! I can't wait to revisit again this year now that October's here once again!
Such a cute orchard! I went for a queer fall festival event and it was such a fun time! It is very family friendly and the food is to die for. You have to make sure to pick up cider donuts!!🍩 they’re only a dollar each and they give you a bakers dozen so it’s a great price. The hard cider was good but most of them were on the dryer side aside from the dochs peach which is that second one. My favorite thing about this place is that they have cider individualize to each apple and then they have cider made from a variety of apples.
We took a chance on Wilklow after we saw they were dog friendly - and it ended up being our favorite apple picking experience! Not only are the orchards gorgeous, but they provided live music, two food trucks, and even a local beer/cider truck! After all the walking, a cold cider flight and some food was an ideal way to relax & unwind. The orchard was a highlight of our trip and definitely recommend for anyone traveling with a dog!
So worth the ride from Yonkers!
(90 mins.)
Plenty of room & plenty to do both for adults & kids.
They have live music & games.
The artisan Cider & Beer are amazing! I had the blueberry lavender cider & it was excellent & strong! 😉 Their margarita pizza was very good & not over priced.
They even have Fuji & this new apple that just came out - Snapdragon! Very good - sweet & crisp!
Their homemade fudge, as well as their apple cider donuts, pies, maple syrup & honey are fantastic!
You should definitely check this place out!
Beautiful!! Went for the day to do some apple and pumpkin picking. We got the $32 large bag (not sure if that's expensive or not?)
Got an Apple and Sausage pizza/flatbread which was good because of the fresh apples but it didn't have a lot of taste to it. Also had their Pumpkin and Passion Cider which were both good. The Passion cider was a little sour but you can really taste the Pumpkin in the Pumpkin Cider.
The Orchards are a pretty good size. You don't feel like you're on top of other people walking around... the incline to the top is a decent little hike- great views at the top!!
All in all a really nice day for a family outing or a good date :) 🍎🌾🍁
