Went here in 2021 at the recommendation of a specialist. My 1st visit wasn't great. A woman with a heavy accent worked with me, sort of. 2 different times I was just left in the room laying on a bed doing nothing. I left feeling like I just did nothing for 50 minutes. Went back 2 days later and worked with a male therapist and WOW what a difference. We did a lot more and I felt like progress was made. Worked with the lady again and I was very annoyed. She is very bossy and pushy, doesn't explain things. It feels like your in a military camp, not PT. I requested to see the male therapist going forward. I saw him 95% of the time. He found a great technique that worked well for my issue. He is easy to understand and communicate with, and I always left feeling like I made progress. One of my last appointments, I got stuck with the drill Sargent again and finally had enough when she had me try and do this silly exercise that was not working for me. I more or less indicated I'm not doing that anymore and I believe the normal male therapist took over.

They also had issues staffing the receptionist. Id say 40% of the time, she wasn't there, meaning often times my payment couldn't be processed, then I'd have to wait till next time to do it, but if she was still off, then I waited more and had to remember what I owed them. If she was on vacation, they had no fill in either.

They still mail me things to this day, despite living in PA. The email address listed is undeliverable. It always seemed like they were understaffed and you may not get the same therapist when you go. If I could see the same person everytime, sure, but otherwise I would not recommend going here overall.

I cannot speak for the entire practice as I only went once with 1 therapist. My therapist came in, did her assessment, went over some somatics exercises, asked me to do ten sets and she said she would be back. Well she didn't come back. So the therapist in the next room who had a patient came over and hooked me up to a tens machine. I haven't had any luck with tens machines and have tried them several times. I was on it for what seemed like forever. When the machine went off, I had to unhook myself from it to use the restroom. Today I tried a different physicaly therapy office and it was a completely different experience. The therapist was with me the whole time and worked with me on retraining my muscles to relax. I will not return to Farmington Valley Physical Therapy. I cannot say you will have a bad experience there. I do not know the circumstances around why my therapist did not return until it was time for me to leave.

I had shoulder replacement surgery last February. After only 18 sessions at Farmington Valley Physical Therapy, I achieved all of my range of motion goals and am well on my way to a complete recovery. While my shoulder was stiff and sore for about six weeks following surgery, the therapy process was not painful and I actually felt better at the end of each session. Thank you FVPT.

If you find yourself needing physical therapy, I highly recommend Farmington Valley Physical Therapy in Unionville, CT. I have had a lot of leg injuries, and so after my latest knee injury, my doctor suggested that I get some physical therapy. I decided to go to Farmington Valley PT and I am so glad that I did!
The entire staff there is so friendly, extremely educated and very professional. While I was I was getting the needed therapy, they suggested that I might want to go to some of the Hanna Somatic classes that they offer (free of charge, while I was in therapy). I went to the classes and found that these gentle yoga movements complimented the therapy that I was getting. The Somatic exercises helped so much! I found that my pain had diminished and my mobility had improved. In fact, when I was done with my PT, I continued to go to the Somatic classes once a week, and then throughout the week I would do the exercises at home to maintain being pain-free. So, once again, if you every find yourself needing physical therapy, you should definitely check out FVPT.
