I’ve trained Taichi with Shifu Yan for almost a year and it’s truly been an honor to learn from him at his dojo. It’s very rare to find such a depth of knowledge and experience in the ancient arts. With his instruction I’ve seen great improvements in my overall health (physical and mental). I believe anyone and everyone can benefit from the arts Shifu Yan teaches here. Highly Recommend

I've been taking Taichi lessons from Shifu Yan for about 10 months now, starting last November. Shifu Yan, who trained in the Shaolin temple, is the best teacher you could ask for. I originally began lessons because of a neck fusion surgery that went wrong, leaving me unable to feel my hands and dealing with extreme weakness in my arms. He has truly helped me so much with stance training, relaxation exercises, the Taichi forms, and meditation.

His deep knowledge of Taichi and martial arts, along with his great wisdom, really shows in every lesson. But beyond all that, he's an incredibly patient and excellent teacher. You can tell he truly cares about his students. I’ve learned so much, not just about Taichi, but also meditation and finding peace within myself.

I look forward to every single class and will continue training with Shifu Yan for many years! If you're considering learning Taichi or just want to connect with someone who knows what they're talking about, I can't recommend him enough!

I have been studying with Shifu Yan for one year. I have studied other martial arts for 50 years.
Shifu Yan possesses a deep knowledge of many Chinese martial arts.
His immense understanding of important skills, techniques and principles comes from the lineage of his teachers.
He and his teachers are impressively connected to the origins of these internal Chinese styles.
The skills he has taught me have transformed my life.
My body has more balance, structural alignment and strength.
It is a rare opportunity to study with a Shaolin trained monk.
If you want to enhance the quality of your health and the peacefulness in your life, try a class.

I have been training with Shifu for about a year, in Tai Chi and Push Hand. I have able to learn and integrate Tai Chi within my life and gained a fantastic way to gain personal perspective and use it as a way to spring board into other areas of my life. I am more confident, calm, and relaxed. Shifu is a wonderful instructor, patient and thorough.

    I would recommend to anyone.

Being in my 60’s and not wanting to move or feel like it, I began a couple of months ago and am hooked. Listening to Shifu (Master) Yan’s thorough knowledge of the history of his multiple styles is like a Learning Channel special on the history of Chinese marital arts.
His patience and teaching style are refreshing, especially his patience. He truly shows his love of what he is doing.
I am studying Xingyi to develop internal power and balance (it looks similar to Tai Chi but a greater focus on developing internal power). For the adults, your payments are considered a tax deduction and my accountant was happy to apply all of my dues!
Shifu Yan has a gift for sharing the Asian culture as he guides skill development. There is something here for everyone; young and old, male and female.
