We've been with Koei-Kan Branchville for 4 months and couldn't be happier. My 7 year old was diagnosed with ADHD over the summer and we had read how martial arts could help manage symptoms. My son has thrived with Sensei D and Sensei Ayla. I'm amazed at how his awareness and control of his body has improved in such a short time. He is so much more focused and I know this class is a large part of it. I've seen his confidence grow each week. The classes always start with warm-up exercises and then the students move on to learning and practicing different techniques (punches/kicks, rolls/falls, katas). The students also spar with each other in some classes. It is varied enough to keep my son interested. The classes run about 45 minutes and meet 3 times a week. You pay one monthly fee (cash or check only) and you can come as much or as little as you want. There's no contract which is nice so if you need to take a month off it's no big deal. What my son likes most of all though is the friends he's made in class. There's a real sense of community at Koei-Kan from the older students that come to class to help the younger kids to the charity events the dojo supports. It's worth checking out a trial class if you're interested.
No words can say how great this place is , my 2 kids joined at a very young age now I have a green belt and a brown belt it’s amazing to see how much they learned over the years . The instructors are fantastic and very caring . It’s a stress free place , no contracts ,and tuition is unbeatable . Stop in give it a try you won’t be disappointed !!! Koei Kan karate is my family second family !!
This dojo is awesome. I love the staff and and the students. My son is so focused and always enjoys his time there. The skills he learns here is great for life.
A wonderful place, so happy that my grandsons attend! They are learning valuable life skills, and the staff is very attentive to their individual needs and goals. My wife and I have recently attended a event at the dojo to benefit a local charity, we were moved by the way all came together to help those in need. These are values I support 100%
My two sons (now ages 13 and 10) started here very young... my youngest at age 4. This dojo became a second family to us. The instructors are kind, caring, and truly teach their students to be better people! I can't say enough about them... and the tuition is unbeatable which is a plus!
