Coty Marine

I purchased a used Monterey 295 SY from Coty Marine on Christmas week last December. I took some time to have a season with the boat before reviewing. Overall, I recommend Coty Marine, and would buy from them again. They have a very nice showroom, great lineup of boats, and communication is very good along the process. I suspect I'm slightly more annoying than the average customer, but far from the worst.

- Salesman Joe B was *EXTREMELY* helpful. He was knowledgeable about the boat, gave good advice, easy to work with, and served as a conduit to everything I needed to get done or coordinated at Coty. While I felt bad bothering him, any time I found myself lost I contacted Joe and he got me sorted out.

- As part of my sales process, I got some work and enhancements done before collecting the boat. Trista from service was really helpful with that process, and with coordinating pickup of the boat by hauler to be brought home.

- My one gripe would be that although I got a survey and test drive, there were a few things that surfaced as far as things that needed to be fixed with the boat upon arrival. I had hoped that due to this boat being owned by the dealership they would have awareness/have gone over the boat prior to sale. This was compounded by the fact that I got all of my winterizing/dewinterizing done, and no issues were presented to me. I would have loved to have gotten everything fixed and serviced at a Monterey shop if I had been aware. I realize this is a used boat, so I don't see it as a huge fault, but a "would have been nice." I am still working through getting the generator to work, unfortunately.

In conclusion, a few quick points:

1) Definitely contact Joe B for any boat needs! He was amazing.
2) Monterey is an incredible boat. I am very happy with the boat overall, and get many compliments on it
3) Coty is a high volume dealer, and I suspect on new boats you will get very competitive pricing.
4) If you buy used, I would take caution to perhaps look more carefully than I did or have a mechanic review. I may have just had a little bit of bad luck, as generator did start for survey but did not work later.

Thanks Coty! Keep a 385SE warm for me for next time my wife lets me buy a boat.

What was supposed to be quick morning out on the water, turned into a panic filled morning. My wife and I bought a Black Fin from Coty in 2024 and from the start it was a enjoyable buying experience. After our first season we had a few warranty issues that needed to be addressed. Owning my own business I strongly believe how you handle a bad situation is what sets you apart from the competition. Trista in the service department was on top of her game and did everything in her power to make sure our checklist was professionally taken care of. She went thru the boat with a fine tooth comb and even pointed out a few things that we didn’t notice. That type of service is hard to find in todays world!
