New to area and found this hidden treasure, 1st impression reminded me of an old fashioned butcher only to learn the owner recently opened the storefront 15 months ago. I bought steak, sausage, chicken and it was all fantastic. Made a 2nd trip in 2 weeks and still did not disappoint. If you haven’t tried them I would def recommend, just a girl originally from Brooklyn..

Went there today to pickup some exotic meats.
Friendly butcher and owner and fairly price meats. Purchased Waygu Beef, Venison parts for stew and chicken hearts. Looking forward to cooking and eating!

This small shop packs a big punch with its impressive selection of products. The owner's friendly and knowledgeable demeanor made our visit even more enjoyable. We were intrigued by their dinosaur ribs and decided to give them a try. We were not disappointed! The ribs were absolutely fantastic. We'll definitely be returning customers.

I recently picked up some beef braciole, pork braciole, meatballs, sweet Italian sausage, and pork neckbones from Mikey’s Meat Market to make our Sunday sauce. It was a huge hit! The quality of the meat was impeccable—everything tasted so fresh and flavorful, making our sauce rich, savory, and truly unforgettable.

The braciole, meatballs and Italian sausage added the perfect blend of spices, while the pork neckbones gave the sauce incredible depth and body. We could tell that Mikey’s takes pride in their products, and it shows in every bite. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do, helping me pick the best ingredients for our recipe. (shoutout to Jay for his help!)

We’ll definitely be coming back for more, and I’d highly recommend Mikey’s to anyone looking for top-notch meats. This place is a gem in Matawan, and if you’re serious about cooking, you’ve got to give them a try. Thank you, Mikey’s, for taking our Sunday sauce to the next level!

My husband and I have been shopping at Mikey’s Meats almost every week, and we couldn’t be happier with our experiences. Not once have we brought home a piece of meat that wasn’t top-notch in quality. Some of our favorites include the NY strip steaks, T-bone steaks, bbq steak skewers, pork ribs, and wagyu burgers. Oh, and our dogs LOVE their bones too! It’s a win-win for the entire family! The store is beautiful and clean with plenty of parking, and the prices are incredibly reasonable, especially considering the superior freshness and taste compared to what you’d find at a commercial retail store.

What truly sets this place apart is Mikey and his staff — they are so personable and always willing to chat or offer recommendations. It’s clear they care about their customers and their craft. We’re so fortunate to have this shop in our community, and after experiencing the difference, we can’t imagine going back to buying meat anywhere else!
