This place was cute, old fashioned and rustic. But it was very clean and the cable tv had so many channels to choose from. The only thing was the lighting. I need more lights where the dresser was due to bad eyesight. And perhaps a small table can be added under the tv for eating. But we were there for a reunion and it was just what we needed. The women who runs the place was super nice and helpful.
This motel reminds me of years gone by. Yes it is dated, yes it has basic amenities. We loved that it is so close to the beach, and walking distance to the marina and restaurants. And the room was very clean and Autumn was a extremely gracious host! We will be back!
Ella’s Hotel was a great blessing for us. Service was very good, although rooms are dated they were very clean. Location is convenient to the north part of the island. There’s no pool but they Lend you beach badges for the day. We would come back and we would recommend it.
Such a lovely motel with a very B&B vibe. We were warmly welcomed. It was such a pleasure to meet the family who owns Ella's. We travel to Barnegat Light every year for Running-for-Joy5k but this was the first time we stayed overnight. The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. The bathrooms are large and clean with good water pressure. The delicious breakfast was served to order by the family in a bright homey kitchen. I look forward to returning again this year and would recommend Ella's to anyone.
Stayed here for a few days, very relaxed atmosphere, SUPER cold AC in the rooms which is nice after a long day on the beach (had to turn it down a few times it was so cold). The staff is super friendly and laid back. Great experience and would highly recommend it. It's not a high end hotel (keep that in mind), it's a family owned motel and the rooms are clean and quiet, the flat screen TV's have over 200 channels in case the weather does not cooperate and you get 'trapped' in the room for a few hours. Super trip, thanks Autumn! I would also recommend her sister-in laws restaurant across the street open in the evenings BYOB super fresh food & sea food not too expensive (I had surf & turf for under $40) most entree's average $25. The Motel is very conveniently located same distance from the marina one way as the beach to the other, easily walking distance, Viking village next to the marina also easily walking distance. There's a convenience store & gas station across the street which is nice for ice and other quick items. There is a grocery store 2 or 3 blocks up towards the light house for larger items. No microwave or fridge in the rooms so bring a cooler to keep in your car. We'll definitely be back! Very relaxing stay.
