Sourland Mountain Preserve

One of my favorite places to go hiking with my dog. We’ve been here well over 20 times and there are several different trails to explore here. You can bike here as well. If you enjoy rock climbing there is some fun bouldering that can be done as well. Great to come here all year round. Gets pretty busy on the weekends.

Took the hiking group from my school on 11/14/25. It was a cool Fall day great for hiking. The County has done a great job marking the trails. As well asl keeping it clean. Expect to see some interesting wildlif as well.

Been coming here for many years.

Hiking, bouldering, bird watching. Such a beautiful part of our county, and a real treasure for hillsborough.

Fall & winter are particularly beautiful times to visit this park.

Get to the top of the pipeline for some nice views.

I underestimated the trails at this park. It was a little more difficult than anticipated. We did the orange and yellow trail which was very rocky, large boulder rocks, recommend a walking stick. Trails were easy to follow and clearly marked. They even had trail maps located at various places. The pups and I had no tick problems!

So soothing to hike there! It feels like the whole world is at peace...until you trip over a root and remember you are just a human navigating nature! The trails are beautifully maintained, with stunning views that make life worth living (unless you get lost, then it’s just existential crisis). The sounds of nature, from the rustling leaves to the distant birdsong, create a perfect vibe for reflection and relaxation. This place offers something for everyone, including an opportunity to contemplate your life choices while panting uphill!
