LATEST: Colonoscopy today -- Dr. Glanzman and his entire staff were exceptional, from Lisa & team at the desk to the admitting nurse to the post-op nurse Kimberly. Also, the anaesthesiologist Dr. Modhi was excellent in manner and expertise. (The prep for the colonoscopy is awful, but such an important procedure.) PREVIOUS: A first-rate gastroenterologist. Yesterday's app't was positive in all aspects: Lisa at the front desk, Christine for the vitals, and Dr. Glanzman re the consultation. The doctor had handled my colonoscopy a decade ago and he did an excellent procedure at that time. When my insurance changed, Dr Glanzman was no longer an in-network choice and I went to another local GI for a subsequent procedure. I consulted with Dr Glanzman again last summer after being advised by my PCP that I should schedule another colonoscopy in 2023. Dr Glanzman said that the procedure wasn't necessary until the end of 2024. I will rely upon him.
Our experiences at Dr. Barry Glandsman's Office have always positive. The Office Staff are always helpful and friendly. My husband and I have been going to Dr. Glandsman for many years. He always takes time to explain everything very clearly. Thank you Dr. Glandsman for caring for your patients. For us it's a solid 5 Stars
I went to Dr. Glanzman a few years ago due to my doctor finding out that I had low ferritin (iron). They were unsure of the cause, so they sent me to Dr. Glanzman to do some testing to make sure that I was OK and wasn't bleeding internally or anything.
The office staff and the office in and of itself is very nice. The personnel were very kind and professional. The office was clean and well kept, from the front waiting room to the back area.
When I got there I was astounded that Dr. Glanzman took the time to sit down with me in his personal office and talk to me after evaluating me in one of the regular rooms. He was incredibly nice, sincere, and professional. This was an absolute 180 compared to the other GI's that I had seen over the years, where they seemed to rush me in and out and didn't take much time to talk to me. In fact, one of the last GI doctors I had talked to due to intense stomach pain and nausea essentially threw me out of his office for some unknown reason, whether he was having a bad day or whatever. Sadly, I cannot remember their name, but they were on the north shore elsewhere.
Dr. Glanzman did a colonoscopy and an endoscopy on two separate days in the office itself. When going into the room the personnel was incredibly sincere and nice. They even asked me what kind of music I'd like to listen to as the anesthesia took me under. Despite it being quite uncomfortable (no one wants to do these tests), they kept me at ease.
I highly recommend Dr. Glanzman. Sadly, I had one more test to do but never got it done. The only -- ONLY -- issue I had with Dr. Glanzman was the location of his office. I live in Patchogue and worked in Smithtown at the time I was seeing him; getting to him wasn't too bad after work, but the ride home felt like I was on a miniature road trip. The traffic around the area is quite substantial too. But if that doesn't both you or you live in the area, this is one of the best medical professionals I've ever seen.
