Carquest Auto Parts - CARQUEST OF PLEASANT VALLEY

I had borrowed a car for a few days and had scratched the side of it with a gate entrance. It was bad. I had to return the car the next day and felt horrible about the damage. I was driving on the Dutchess TP thru pleasant valley and saw the auto parts store, Carquest. I immediately parked and walked in. (Please note, I had a soft cast on my left foot and had difficulty walking.)

I walked in and a woman named Tammie immediately greeted me and smiled. Asked me if I needed help. I figured I could do this all myself and said. “No thanks…” but then I thought, she works here, she would know!

I told her the situation and without question, she quickly grabbed some products she had in the back and walked out to the car with me! (Who does that these days). She tried to fill in the scratch with filler, then compared paints but felt the color paint she had wasn’t right. I was going to walk back in with her but she said “oh no, you stay out here. You can’t keep walking back and forth with that foot!” What customer service! I was parked far from the entrance and she was being so incredibly thoughtful. She came back with a set of cans, and didn’t feel the match was right. Walked back in to change cans and came out yet again! Bingo, a match. She told me how to apply the paint, far away long strokes from left to right, even offered to do it for me after I purchased the paint. But I felt so bad already. I declined her offer. We went back in so I can purchase the paint! And off I went.

But all this to say, Tammie really went out of her way to help me, OUT OF HER WAY! She was so kind, patient and resourceful. You don’t get this kind of service often. It’s rare. And I am so glad she was there.

Tammie’s a keeper. A valuable asset that makes me want to only come back to this store to see her if I ever need help again!

Amazing people work here. My battery had just been jumped started and I was told to go to Carquest which was right across the street. I had no idea it had been there since April 2023. I am selling my car and didn't want to spend a lot on a new battery. They quickly found one that would work with my car for $150. Not only that, one of the employees installed it for me right there in the parking lot. I didn't expect that at all. In any event, I'm going back to Carquest in Pleasant Valley (in the same plaza where the Public House is) for all my automotive needs!
