Bought a new bike for my wife and got it sent to Redbeard Bikes, and I am so thankful I did that. Ilya and Kasia were amazing! They were so attentive, kind, helpful, and the attention to detail is to be commended. My wife said that she feels so ready to use the bike after her time with Ilya and Kasia. They made sure that she was familiar with the folding of the bike and went through every feature of it. I am very impressed and I will choose no one else to introduce a Brompton to a first time owner other than them!
I recommend having your bicycle delivered to them for pickup so they can tune it to fit you best. If you got it sent to your home, you might need to go into a shop to get it done anyway. They even have extra tips on how to best maintain your Brompton and they really are the experts. You will be in good hands with them! :)
They were very patient with my many outreach attempts and changes to schedule, I think it took over a year before we actually got together for the fitting. Fitting was very useful, took time to understand how I intended to use the bike, helped me narrow down options, and be realistic about the flexibility in task a single bike could reasonably do. The measurement process was similarly detailed, with small changes greatly impacting the feel and reducing pain/tension points. Felt listened to, and as if getting level of information appropriate to my intereat and knowledge level (I repect expertisw and geer heads but injust want a bike that works for me, turned the tech details over to them). All my questions were answered when I asked about the why behind different choices or the technical side of things, but at a level that was meaningful to me. I just got the bike and again felt supported and listened to when inpicked it up and we made some detailed changes. I wanted a commuter bike that was easy to ride and maintain and could manage the city streets while being capable and fun for longer weekend rides on roads or easy off-road adventures. And that was easy to maintain. This was my first custom bike experience, and it was very positive. Got the impression that they can equally meet needs of more knowledgeable, high level riders and geer heads as well. I have not used it significantly yet. But I feel that I can bring it back for changes and tweaks if it isn't quite working. I was concerned that I would spend a lot of time and money and not like the final product. I love the final product and finally feel like I have a bike that is working with me and not one that I am subtly struggling to make work. Thank you both!
I love my Brompton C Line bike from Redbeard. We can find any bike everywhere and purchase bike online from Brompton website. However, I still went back to Redbeard Bikes Shop for my purchase because the service is really good!!! They are so kind to everyone.
I ever stoped by any bikes shop in Manhattan(for Brompton purpose). The service wasn’t bad there but they just let you tried bike and didn’t explain anything. Therefore, I decided to buy my bike in Redbeard Bikes. I believe the service is more important than everything. 👍👍👍👍
Went in for a test ride, left with a brand new Brompton. The staff here were wonderful. Very knowledgeable and made sure I was comfortable with my bike. They even had me fold and unfold the bike a few times until I was confident. I was ready to load up my new ride with accessories, but they prioritized my actual needs and talked me out of some accessories I wouldn't need right away, encouraging me to get familiar with my bike first and then assess what I really need to add. I appreciated that a lot. They took the time to answer all my questions, give the bike a tune up and inspection before I rolled it out the door, and gave me advice/tips about my Brompton that I won't just find in a manual. They really made an effort to fit me to the right bike. Will definitely be a regular at Redbeard for tune ups and I recommend checking them out for all your cycling needs.
I have been riding, fixing, and racing bikes for over 15 years. Redbeard was the nicest experience. I bought a Brompton bike that they quickly customized to mi taste with lightweight parts. They explaining very well not just technical details but also talked about practical usage. They are highly knowledgeable. Great experience.
