Shadowbox Design Management is FANTASTIC!!! We are The Riverside Theater in the Riverside Church located in Harlem. I didn't want anything fancy. I wanted to replace our old projector in FOH with a slightly better and brighter projector and add a remote screen downstage of the main curtain for film screenings and panel discussion. I also needed the projector to display on our cyc upstage for companies that do performances. The cyc is where we usually project on, except it is too far upstage when we do film screenings and panel discussions. I also wanted to be able to give my clients the option to project on both the screen and the cyc in their show if they needed to. I contact Shadowbox Design Management and Joe came out and did a site visit. Now he did not think that I would be able to give the clients that option because I would need to change the lens (which is what I expected and was told by other companies). So, I accepted that fact that the client would have to choose the cyc or the screen. He specked everything out and sent me a quote that was within our budget. I wanted a plug and play screen; I did not want to hard wire. The screen he suggested was out of the plug and play, but Joe and his team wired a plug onto the screen at their shop for us. The projector he suggested was a Barco G50-W8 8,000 lumen laser projector. This was way better than our old NEC projector. With this projector, I would be able to use just one lens for both screens. This meant that I may be able to give my clients the option to project on both the screen and cyc. We of course would need to test that out to see if timing would allow this. I asked for a demo, and he gave me one. We setup a day and time in May to do the projector demo. Now two days before our next rental, which was a film screening, and the day before our demo, our old projector died. Joe came with the Barco projector and gave us the demo. After gushing on how bright it was, I asked if we could rent the demo projector for our next rental. He said we do not need to rent it, just pay for the shipping for its return. He saved us!!! Charlie and his team came in September and installed our projector and screen and double checked that everything was in. Everything was installed neatly and with extreme care. Joe came in the following week to install the lens and set the screens. The projector was not reading our computer. He thought he would be there for 20 minutes, and he was there for two hours troubleshooting and trying to figure out why it was not working. He finally confirmed with Barco that the problem was the drivers and that our brand-new projector needed to be replaced. Joe was on top of it. He setup everything with Barco to get our replacement shipped and he also had a backup plan if the replacement projector did not arrive in time for our next rental. It came in two days later; Charlie installed the replacement and configured our two screen settings. We did a test, and not only did it look fantastic, but we learned that the timing of the screen going out does allow us to offer the clients to project on both the screen and the cyc for their show. I tell you; they gave me everything that I asked for!!!! They were very nice, professional, accommodating, and scrupulous. I highly recommend you utilize their services.
