This shop is a hidden gem for hockey players! The staff really know their gear—they gave me great advice on sticks, skates, and sharpening that made a huge difference on the ice. The selection is solid, with everything from youth equipment to pro-level options, and the prices are very fair. You can tell they truly care about the local hockey community. I’ll definitely be coming back here for all my hockey needs!
Went to the big hockey store. Their expert, or whatever you want to call them, staff told me I must buy $1100 skates or I won’t be able to skate. Seriously, I’m 11 years old and have been skating on my first pair of $65 skates for years and am one of the best skaters on my team. They did their scans and had me try on skates that didn’t fit. Went to Mike, he took one look at my feet, had me try on a pair of skates he had in stock then said I know what to order and to come back in a few days. The skates fit perfectly out of box without even baking them. Been skating on them 4 months and they are exactly what I needed for about $300. Mike is a true expert on fitting skates.
I’ve been going to Mike’s shop for years to purchase skates and hockey equipment for my son. He accommodates all your needs, knows exactly how to size equipment and skates. His prices are always great. Recently, I decided to purchase skates for myself even though I haven’t skated in decades. Mike helped me find a pair of figure skates that were comfortable, supportive and at a lower price than anywhere else. I have used them a bunch of times already skating with my son and they are perfect. He is the best at what he does and we are so lucky to have him in Great Neck!
Mike at the pro shop is super helpful and knowledgeable. Family owned pro shop and they know how to treat their customers. I have been taking my son’s hockey skates to them for years now to get sharpened and they do the best/consistent job around.
Mike was a big help. When I came in he was super friendly and knowable. Helped me find good skates and sharpened them. Unfortunately I went to dick sporting good before coming here because they had my size online available for inshore pick up so I went and they didn’t have them, and when I asked for help no one helped for 10 min so I left and came here and it was 100x better. Would recommend this place over any super sports store in a heart beat.
