This review is based off of a first visit:
The office staff is nice. The nurse practitioner is also very nice, listens to patients in detail and asks more. The building itself is musty and old. I'm not sure if it's the cleaning crew or if it's just the building but, it gave me the feeling that there might be mold in the carpet, I even have a sore throat after just being there.
The Doctor Mandal however is QUICK to prescribe medications, good if you're into that I guess. My biggest gripe is he basically told me we'll try this medication and test later. I was baffled, also because he DID NOT WANT TO TELL ME WHAT MEDICATION IT WAS!!! He seemed to be upset that I even ask about the medication and gave me the briefest description ANYONE has ever given me about a medication; didn't even tell me the NAME! I want to know what this medication is, what it does, and what it could do positively or negatively to me, before I put it into my body! He also brushed aside my medical preferences and basically told me to go search out and speak with a specialty doctor without any guidance because he felt my medical issue might be their problem and not his but it might not be theirs either. Then WHY prescribe me medication in the 1st place?! I am beyond frustrated.
I came into this office as someone who does not take medication and does not want to be on medications unless I have to be. I've been dealing with a pain for months and I am truly appalled that is being taken so lightly. My family is very HIGH tolerant to pain and full of medical issues. I walked on a broken ankle for hours before realizing it was broken in the past. If there is something wrong, I would like to be tested first and have things ruled out before jumping to some random medication, I am no guinea pig.
If the pharmacy calls me, I'm looking this pill up, and 9/10 I'm not taking it until this doctor or another doctor actually takes the steps to find out what is wrong with me before jumping to medicate me.
Dr. Mandal and the PA Karen are excellent practitioners. They both treat you with the utmost care and respect. They make you feel important and really listen to how you are feeling. The office staff is pleasant and very helpful. Would definitely recommend this office!
