I live and work in the area and I will drive past 2 other bagel/sandwich shops to come here. The prices are better or comparable and the sandwiches come with a little salad AND a pickle. Heart heart.

I was desiring a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel yesterday morning has I haven't had one in a while due to having a physical injury and needing a cane getting around. I wanted one so bad, I struggled and pushed myself to get out of the house and arrived at St. James bagel shop, where the store was crowded as usual. I got to the counter quickly and was asked by the male employee ( possible owner, not sure) what I would like. I placed my order and he asked my name. I told him and he said to go have a seat. I did. After grabbing a chair near the window, I heard the man say, " I have an order here for Beverly. I want you to make it next." He then walked over to me and told me what it cost , so I handed him the money. He told me to stay seated, he would take care of me and bring my change and order back. He returned with my change and I heard him ask one more time if my order was ready. He could tell I was having difficulty and put my order ahead of the other customers who were waiting for their orders.. He returned to the back of the counter working. Moments later, a female walked over to me with my order. She asked if I wanted a beverage with my order and got me an orange juice and wanted to help me out to the car. I said I can make it and thanked her. I asked her what her name was and she said it was Joan. I also asked what the man's name was and she said Nino. I thanked her. What a beautiful bagel store. What beautiful people and what a true act of kindness to put me has a priority and help me has much as they did. Thank you both so much, Nino and Joan! You made me so happy for the rest of the day. Has for the bagel sandwich, it was the best one I ever ate. I will be back. Thank you again for everything you did for me.

I ordered 7 dozen bagels for my daughter’s farewell brunch for her wedding. Lisa was so sweet. She pack them in ziplock bags of 4 to keep them fresher. We served them the following morning and they were just as fresh and delicious as the day one. Highly recommend them.

Long Island bagels truly are the best, and St. James Bagels does not disappoint! I can't get enough of their everything bagel with plain cream cheese - it's the perfect combination of flavors and textures. Each bite is a taste of bagel heaven! The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the bagels are always fresh and delicious. Whether you're a local or just passing through, St. James Bagels is a must-visit for bagel lovers!

It's a bagel shop so idk how much atmosphere it's supposed to have, but you're definitely comfortable at the cafe tables.

Food is delicious and generously sized.

Service is friendly and they listen to how you like your order (lightly toasted or a little butter or a lot of mayo or whatever your thing is).

I drive up from Selden if I'm having a bad day and their BLT on a bagel fixes everything. I take it on a toasted everything and get the cucumber salad as my side. The rest of the day the Sun shines brighter and my colleagues seem nicer. And the bagels and bacon portion are large enough to save half for dinner if I'm working late.
