We, as a family, have been going to Motion Therapy for over eight years now allowing us to walk out feeling much better then when we entered. Between us we have had 3 hips, 2 knees, one shoulder, one elbow and a couple of ankles which all needed therapy. After the first recovery we knew that Bart and Rachael had the patience, knowledge and caring to go from the pain we had requiring therapy to back to the pre-operative use of the affected body parts.
Waiting time at its worst was about five minutes.
The equipment used was clean and available (no waiting for equipment use).
All of the exercises, massages, and the benefit of each set were all explained in detail. Photo illustrations enhanced the explanations.
The co-payments were very reasonable and the communication between Motion Therapy and the insurance companies was quick.
My first experience ever with physical therapy was after i broke my humeral ball in my shoulder in May of 2024. I came to Motion Therapy as it was close to my home and my daughter had been here before. I can tell you this was one of the best experiences I have ever had in healthcare! Bart and Rachel have so much experience with every type of injury or issue. They interviewed me regarding the injury and put a treatment plan together that gave me my full range of motion back in my arm. THEN in April of 2025, i managed to break my ankle as well - and without hesitation I of course, chose Motion Therapy. I would recommend this practice to anyone with ANY type of injury. They handle the insurance authorizations and issues that may arise. Given I have been coming for 2 years now, we fellow patients have built a community within Motion Therapy - This is the place to go without a doubt, if you are in need of physical therapy.
Motion Physical Therapy provides a warm and caring environment, and the therapists are outstanding. When I began therapy, I experienced significant pain whenever I used my left arm. Now, I have full mobility and no pain. Choosing this place for my therapy was the best decision I could have made. I highly recommend their services.
This was my first time participating in physical therapy. I was recommended to them from a family member. I am very happy with the experience. The family running it is so nice. I feel like they welcomed me in fully. The cozy atmosphere and awesome music, make working out fun. Some of the exercises I do seem quite easy, but i feel it later. They always check to see how I am feeling when I arrive to see if they need to modify their workout plan. After a few weeks, they were able to teach me how to do some basic exercises. With their support, I could move from one exercise to another with little assistance. This is important because I can now do these at home for extra exercise. The facility is clean. I see them wiping down chairs, beds and frequently changing pillows that are being used. Creating appointments are easy and can be flexible. I would refer them to a friend.
I received a recent recommendation for physical therapy for some joint pain and gave this spot a try. My decision was motivated more by convenience than reviews or recommendations since it was so close to my regular commute.
I know they say don't judge based on appearances, but it's hard not to here. The building is quite small and unassuming on the outside, and it doesn't get much better on the inside. The waiting space consists of a few chairs, and beyond that, there are a few beds and one or two machines along the wall. The interior shows clear signs of age and dilapidation, and I felt generally uncomfortable lying on a pillow when the pillowcase hadn't been changed since the last patient.
The PT who worked with me was sweet, but I didn't leave with a terribly clear sense of my progress plan moving forward. I was also left alone while doing the exercises, with little sense of whether my form was correct. As I looked around the room, it seemed like a lot of folks were left to do their own thing. It might be because some are repeat patients who know the drill; to me, it seemed more an issue of a few staff being spread thin among lots of patients.
Motion Therapy was my first experience with physical therapy, which didn't leave me with a terribly high opinion of PT in general. Having since compared notes with a few others who received PT, I realized there were quite a few things that were absent from my appointment that I should or could have received but didn't because the space just wasn't outfitted with a lot of the equipment that might've been helpful. Having since moved on to another clinic, I'm a little wowed at how much more helpful treatment can become with updated facilities, specialized equipment, and use-at-home materials.
On a side note, I should also share that while Motion Therapy is within my insurance's network, the deductibles ended up being FAR more expensive here. I'm now attending another clinic that's technically out of network, but with a copay that's a fraction of the cost. I'll never understand insurance math, but that ended up being another big reason for my non-return.
