My family and I recently returned from a wonderful 4-night stay at Bethel Pastures Farm Bed and Breakfast. It is set in a stunning spot located in the foothills of the Catskills where you wake up to the sounds of roosters crowing and sheep bleating. From even before we arrived, the hosts, Rochelle and Mark, contacted us to learn our names and offer us a warm welcome. Mark met us upon arriving to show us to our cabin and explain how everything (such as the toilet, outdoor shower and battery for light and charging items since there is no electricity in the cabins) worked. We stayed in the Cabin With A View and the name did not disappoint! We woke up to some incredible sunrises over the surrounding hills! The cabin was cozy and clean with a queen bed upon entering and two twin beds in the loft for our kids. The outdoor kitchen comes fully stocked with essentials for making your own meals. We enjoyed cooking breakfast with complimentary fresh eggs from the farm’s chickens and vegetables and herbs from the hosts’ garden.
The hosts are so helpful in giving you information on all there is to do in the area! On the farm itself, we enjoyed feeding the sheep, chickens and Kryptonite (the alpaca), meeting the friendly dogs and cats and walking on the bucolic trails just steps away from the cabins. In the area, we rented Kayaks at Lake Superior State Park, visited The Museum at Bethel Woods (site of Woodstock), hiked to nearby mountain views and waterfalls, tubed down the Delaware River with Lander’s River Trips and shopped and ate in Jeffersonville and other nearby picturesque and charming towns.
Our kids are technically adults at 20 and 18 years old and we do not get to spend as much time with them as when they were young, so our time together here was priceless. We did not completely disconnect from our devices as the cell phone signal at the cabin was excellent, but we did cut back to enjoy each other’s company and conversation while sitting around our nightly campfires (with wood provided) and gazing up at a sky full of stars.
Rochelle and Mark are friendly, warm and accommodating. They really did go above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed to make our stay all that we had hoped for and more.
P.S. For a special treat, stop by Meyers Century Farm just a few miles aways for freshly made ice cream and /or milk.
We had such a wonderful stay! The farm is amazing & the owners are so welcoming!
My kids loved feeding the animals.
We loved taking hikes on the property.
This is a great place to go relax & reconnect.
I took my family here for a short stay in July - a short trip from NYC. Everyone loved it. The cabins were designed so that sleeping was connected to the outside through screens - cool breezes and sounds of nature.
The sheep were welcome visitors. My kid loved to feed them. Awesome dog. Fresh eggs and veggies grown on the farm.
Beautiful hiking trail on the property. Great swimming lake nearby in Lake Superior. Homemade ice cream from a neighboring farm.
The best part of the farm is the family. Super friendly, warm, and accomodating hosts. Made us feel at home. Good vibes. My family did not want to leave.
Loved this place!! If you love nature, this place may be for you. We hiked the property, enjoyed the sheep/ Rams roaming the property, and loved the beauty of nature. The dogs and cats are friendly and are cut off from the rentals units. Best of all The Hosts Rochelle & Mark were amazing. Pick your eggs and cook them for breakfast. I was born and raised a city boy, this place suited our needs and we loved it.
We stayed at the farm after completing a Spartan Race nearby. We are from Miami, and one of our goals on our trip was to be in touch with nature.
I found Bethel Pastures Bed & Breakfast while creating my itinerary and saw how many good reviews they had! My family and I love staying in cabins and we booked a cozy cabin with a view. My daughter's LOVE animals and being surrounded by them was one of the highlights of our stay.
As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by Mark and two cute dogs my daughter's went crazy over! He showed us our cabin, and gave us plenty of ideas of what to do nearby or around the farm. Mark, Rochelle and Jonathan were so welcoming and made us feel right at home.
Our cabin was cozy and neat. We had everything we needed. My 6yo and 3yo daughter's had fun with the children's books and board games in the cabin. They even did arts and crafts Rochelle provided!
We loved feeding the sheep above all! They made us smile and as long as you have food, they will approach you. Some of them loved being pet as well!
The two mornings we were there, we picked our own eggs and made a delicious breakfast.
Lastly, if you enjoy hiking the farm has a nice hiking trail. There is plenty to do without needing to leave ❤️
I highly encourage everyone to visit this lovely farm. We can't wait to visit again!
