This place has the best selection of old school games you'll find within miles. I bought a ps2 and it works perfectly. The worker was very friendly and knowledgeable. Skip gamestop and give this place a chance!
Cool store, great selection, customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Came in earlier with two Final Fantasy collector sets (game + headphone bundle) and was told they only buy video games…
I stopped in to Joe Gamer last weekend and the selection was good and the physical condition of the discs tend to be very good. There were some games where you know they’ve been on the shelf for a while and unfortunately the condition of those games have deteriorated a bit.
My only real complaint about the store is that there are games that have reprinted cover arts on them that are being sold for the same price as actual complete copies of games. Unfortunately the cover art they print isn’t of a great quality either so it’s not that tempting to buy, especially at the same price as complete games.
I was able to find a few games to take off my checklist though. The retro game store near my home doesn’t have too much that intrigues me, but I always find multiple items at Joe Gamer that I want and buy.
I live over an hour and a half from this store so I’ve only been here a couple times, but both times have been very pleasant! Whenever I’m in the area I’ll always be sure to stop in and pick something up.
It's nice to still have gaming stores considering everyone mostly downloads games digitally. There was Lots of variety at this store. The worker there that day was helpful. Just know that any popular titles of games are probably not going 😕 o be available or sell out super quickly. I paid $30 for a NFC reader for my original Nintendo 3DS. Couldn't find any game I was really wanting. But I would check it out again when I'm in the area. I loved that all the games are alphabetized so makes it easier for sure to find.
My husband is a big gamer so we had been to the old location a few times. This was our first trip to the new spot. The location is much larger and cleaner. There is a huge selection of games, consoles and game related toys. We always leave with a couple fairly priced items.
The 2 stars are lost due to customer service. Not everyone has to be a people person but in a retail store I feel like some people skills are needed. I don't think I've ever seen anyone smile or felt like I could ask for help with something without annoying the person at the counter. Unsure if we'll make a stop here again when we're in the area.
